Shanisah and Jason Knight opened Gotham and Eggs on South Grand Boulevard last August, but Shanisah Knight said the eatery had been struggling financially ever since.
Thanks to unexpected equipment repairs and replacements, two break-ins and less foot traffic than anticipated, Knight said they had been operating month-to-month for a while.
To help keep from shuttering, the business created a GoFundMe last month with a goal of $50,000 as 鈥渁 last ditch effort,鈥 Knight said.
